Title
Ex hoc semine nostra gloria: (From this seed our glory)
Creator
Duff, John Milton, 1886-1904 (speaker)
Identifier
31735071468338
Description
"In September, 1886, the new medical school building at Brereton Avenue and Thirtieth Stree opened its doors for the first class. Fifty-seven students reported. This booklet is a printing of the first lecture given in the new School of Medicine. The opening was a great occasion of visitors and flowers, and Dr. John Milton Duff delivered the initial lecture on his subject, obstetrics, with all the ceremony and grace befitting such a dedication. The spirit which has characterized the University's School of Medicine from it's beginnings colors every sentence, and the lecture is even today an inspiration to all physicians who teach or study in the great School of Medicine and in the Health Center of the University of Pittsburgh."
