Description
Klaus W. Jonas came to the University of Pittsburgh in 1957, joining the faculty of the Germanic section of the Department of Modern Languages and serving as section chair from 1959 to 1962. He retired from Pitt in 1988. Jonas most notably developed bibliographies of the scholarship about the works of Thomas Mann. In 2004 a professorship in the German Department was named in his honor.
