Description
Architectural rendering of Salk Hall by Deeter & Ritchey Architects. The original building, designed by Richard Irving and Theodore Eicholz, was built in 1941 as Municipal Hospital and remodeled in 1949. It was acquire by the University of Pittsburgh in 1957. After further renovation between 1961 and 1962, it became home to the Schools of Pharmacy and Dentistry. Deeter, Ritchey, and Sippel were responsible for the design of the annex housing the schools. In 2010, Salk Hall was again renovated, with a further renovation occurring in 2014.
