Description
State Hall opened on June 9, 1909 as the first academic building on the new University of Pittsburgh's Oakland campus. Formerly known as the Western University of Pennsylvania, the University of Pittsburgh move from Observatory Hill on the North Side to Oakland in 1908. Chevron Science Center currently stands in this location.
