Description
Portrait of Dr. Marion Hathway. She earned degrees from Radcliff College and the University of Chicago. While at Pitt, she served as Assistant Professor and as Professor of Public Welfare at the School of Social Work. Hathway was extensively published, authoring four books and numerous journal articles. Her tenure at Pitt came to an early end when she came under fire for her Progressive views, requiring her to defend against the HUAC in 1950.
