A color photograph of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford president Dr. Livingston Alexander on the left and University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg president Dr. Frank A. Cassell with the Rose Trophy. The Rose Trophy is an all-sports trophy that will travel between the two campuses. The trophy is named for Dr. Merle Richard Rose, a key figure in administration during the creation of the regional campuses. Greensburg artist Reid Crosby created the trophy and carved it in beautiful Pennsylvania cherry. The trophy was won by UPG in 2004. According to President Cassell "The Rose Trophy symbolizes the best values of NCAA Division III athletics - excellence, personal honor, teamwork, and scholarship."
